MISUSAGE AND POVERTY: Vehicles of AGARGAON, MIRPUR ZOO ROAD

Muhammad Shamim Akhter, 13 April, 2011:

A.

Misusage of property and poverty are dependent on each other. Once the intensity of misusage of property is mounted, the height of poverty climbs up naturally. Moreover, when robberies, misappropriation of public private fund go a soar; security of life is challenged and happiness, prosperity, tranquility are moved out.

This simple equation is very relevant to Bangladesh . Prior British rule in Bengal area, the people of this area had the opportunity to enjoy peace, prosperity and lots of outsiders had, therefore, set up their mind to visit, settle down and to make bond with this land. A great deal of foreign tourists, traders, visitors became charmed with the prosperity arranged in consequence of the administrative service by the contemporary rulers.

When the ship load money looted from the treasury of Bengal reached in England after the war of Palashi in 1757, though the English was accustomed to banking business and made possible investing the capital acquired from the colony like Bengal, Industrial Revolution had been made possible there and being deprived of share in the Bengal, the failure French invigorated to their stamina by staging Renaissance Revolution in 1789-90 within subsequent 30 years. The absolute monarchy became so stale that the aristocratic and Christian religious leaders avenged the monarchy of French by bringing the monarchy down. Since the achievement of English in Bengal supposed to make rich and affluent to the Barbar in Europe, the French, on the other hand, being deprived of and such physiological stress made the aristocrat and religious groups pushed forward to make the French Revolution a success. Furthermore, in part of their campaign, old French values had been crushed and enlightenment with vigor had been replaced.

The reason I have discussed the old record, is to remind the importance of Bengal in the world history. Bengal made English rich and French enlightened. One became rich by money, other became intellectual being deprived. As soon as we analysis our political history, we should keep in mind this point. I hope it may open many doors to discover many concealed truth regarding the country. Any way, the diversity of poverty which has been set off in the land of Bengal nearly three hundred years has not been faded; rather the poor face has slightly changed. Now the situation has so harshly worsened that we have to go different parts of the world as slaves. Even the barren desert land of North Shara and other barren parts of the world do not allow settling them.

B.

When our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SA) served his last sermon in Mecca , he declared that if we are able to hold fast the Quran and Sunnah, we will be saved from the ruin. And it is mentioned many times that Al-Quran is the guidance to mankind. It distinguishes between truth and false. On that light, if we follow the Hadis of the Prophet, “If you misusage, you will be poor.” what is then discovered. In regards to misusage, there are many instructions we get from the Quran that will tell the reality about the well-discussed issue in our country poverty. If anybody goes through the Holy Quran, it shall be easily recovered that misusage making us poor to poorer. In the third phase, I shall submit some pictures from Agargaon, and other venues of Dhaka as sample which may clarify that how dastard we are that we are killing ourselves and once those are ruined we jump to grab the alms from other countries! This report shall mainly focus on vehicles, because we have the opportunity to be suffered by in lack of it. I shall put the bus numbers. These buses are dumped at Agargoan as the cases are pending for years and by this time the vehicles are theft and the owners get the money of Insurance and the money has to pay indirectly to the commoners and the sufferings of the commoners are of no end.

In consequence of such misusage, the numbers of beggars are increasing, in tandem, which I shall not hide out.

We all know that the present government is trying to convince to the people that they are not involved in any activities which are subversive to the values of Islam. However, it is very frustrating that misusage of properties has corroborated the fact that they are directly involved in anti-Islamic activity. It is more frustrating that the political parties which organize many programs against the anti –Islamic activities pay a little attention to the broad area where infringement of Islamic Shariah is staged. The commitment which the Present Government vowed as it shall keep up the Islamic values (with dual face), shall not be fulfilled unless the scenario is changed. Their lips and hearts should be in the same phase. Upholding the Islamic values and abstaining itself from anti-Islamic misusage activities, the Government shall save Bangladesh from any ruin certainly be faced or staging for years towards its finality.

C.

I have no personal enmity with or hostility to any public or private offices. However, as a conscious citizen when I go anywhere else, I am cautious about whether any anti-Islamic activities regarding the misusage are concreted. I believe that any such attempt shall lead us towards the path of annihilation. So to save myself, I manage photographs of vehicles at police station and Agargaon Police vehicle dump, Trust Hospital of Mirpur Zoo Road and Department of Environment where vehicles of worth of millions of taka has been being destroyed and no reports in the National Dailies have making a success to wake the concerned up. On the other hand, I have successfully grabbed some photographs which may depict that peoples are to face tremendous problem for lack of mass transports. It is very, fundamental principles of the law that if justice is delayed, justice is denied. If laws relating to the treatment of vehicles are lengthy, then we can ask whether there is any trail spending lots of money.

D.

It is just in three offices, where we have found a sizable number of vehicles, if other peoples try to find out similar vehicles left unused and misused, hopefully they might get. The immediate and long term effect of misusage can be separately discussed. However, the poverty stricken peoples whom we meet during the office time in the street begging alms is nothing but the result of our extravagance, the poverty which is the reality for Bangladesh, is a result of such extravagance which I tried to pin-pointed out. The peoples who are responsible to hatch different kind of misusage of properties do not do for noting, they misusage for the nourishment of their own interests. They are given loan to purchase Indian truck and private cars of Japan . A car selling by 1000 dollors in Japan is sold many times higher in Bangladesh . They bankers get higher interest and the extra money has to pay the handful fortunate buyers who manage the sum while serve in their work place and it is obviously those do not belong unfair means. To be frank, that extra money has to pay by the mass through the burden of debts which it may be different by nature.

Some argues that nearly 60 private cars are sold in alone Dhaka, some argues that this estimation is concerned to whole of Bangladesh . Let it be counted any of it, which may aggravate us to imagine what the fortune of son of peasants of Bengal mange such amount of money? Misusage of wealth and applying different tools to misappropriate the national income, influential persons of the state, are puffed up by means of over and under invoicing, taking money by showing over estimation and lastly when the butter is consumed, the liability to the repayment is shifted in the shape of the debt to the mass and that VIP become loan defaulters. For instance, Salman F. Rahman is the biggest loan defaulter in Bangladesh , since he has linked hot connection with the ‘special person' of the state, he is now above and all. Not only he, we may find many such ‘Rahmans' who have been made car owner by the help of banks. The wage-earners who send lots of money in Bangladeshi banks, does it equally benefiting to the mass? I think it does not. This money is being used for importing luxurious goods, for instance car for handful people for who mass transportation system has not been developed in Bangladesh . Once they are frustrated go to bank for purchase cars. Some families owe more than one car.

If someone investigates to my claim, they must find that the vested quarters who are exploiting us has chosen this mass transportation sector to fill up their empty pockets. The accumulation of money to a few has made the nature of our economy so fragile that for the sake of few fortunate the infrastructural development of the mass is frequently hampered. The inquiry report of the occurrence of the thieves in the Share market of Bangladesh which has come out and published in the Daily Jaijaidin on 13 April, 2011 shows that only 12 peoples transacted 23 thousand crore taka in the Share Market. Without discussing any other matter, if I want to know the reason why only 12 persons are fortunate to deal with such a huge amount of money is the answer of query. Such an accumulation can not be achieved without the full support of the persons enthroned in the apex position. Such criminal bother a little about the extravagance or misusage. The state which harbors the thieves can not sustain the values of goodness.

E.

The gap between rich and poor is widening due to the uneven distribution of wealth in Bangladesh . One of the reasons for wealth distribution is in the lower mark can be identified as the misusage of property. Once we require cars, many car producing countries are ready to help you since when they sell, they earn. Some claimed that a part of profit they foreign car dealers spend for the pleasure of Bangladeshi Beaurocrats and their relatives. They weave such formulations which head the responsible to pick up any such option that may facilitate to the fulfillment of their pocket, but, although their pockets are heavier, such course of action leads to the pass into the jungle of poverty. An English writer W.W. S Hunter remarked about the Bengal Musalman during the rule of English in his book, , “A hundred and seventy years ago, it was almost impossible for a well born Musalman in Bengal to become poor, at Present it is almost impossible for him to continue rich.”

The legacy that the state mechanism in Bangladesh bears has been of no change, even in 2011. Although I shall, inshallah, make review of beggars of Dhaka in particular and the Bangladesh as a whole, at this moment, I can not pacify myself to provide some collection of photographs to the readers which shows that the trail of poverty moving faster and faster.

In Islam, it has been emphasized on to check extravagance. The extravagant is declared as the brother of Saitan. It has been stressed by our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SA) that we should not to misusage of water while to make uzu even when someone is on the bank of river. The buses having 54 seats which used to serve in different locations, what is the logic to leave those under open skies allowed it to be theft. Couldn't the authority of Environment and Adhunik Hospital at zoo road, Dhaka use those vehicles where for lack or many developments work or public service is hampered? Such extravagance is certainly responsible to the cause of poverty of ours. When the policy maker of the country will realize the fact, I hope they will be able to set us free from the burden of poverty. The sooner the better.

See the pictures as follow. How helpless these peoples are! The trail of poor is growing faster ::
