Shahadat of Baba Adam Shaheed

Bangladeshmoves DESK, 29 October 2010/ 2nd : 6 Novembe, 2010:

- Are you mediating? Thought, you will be saved as a result of meditation? It can never be done. Lift your face up and look at.

Hazrat Baba Adam was praying for Magrib prayer. At the end of salaat, when he turned his face, he saw, Ballal Sen, the King of Bikrompur, was standing with the bare sword beside him. Baba Adam started Munajat calmly. It pretended that he was begging Allah at his life's end.

Ballal Sen became impatient. It assumed that the munajat of that Fakir was just an excuse to kill time. He did not wait till he finished his prayer. He thought that it was not the proper time to offer courtesy. Defeating the Muslim force he came to the Dargah of the Fakir at the end of the day. He came to give a lesson to the ‘arrogant' Darvish. The winning military was celebrating at the battle field. Some were busy enough to catch the injured Muslim soldiers. It was a derogatory task to employ soldiers for an unarmed Darvish on half of the King's discretion.

Since the Darvish Baba was not finishing his prayer, the King heavily stroke at his neck being impatient. It was a miraculous! Nothing was happened to the Darvish. His sword even could not touch the skin of his body, even the strike could not harm to the hanging part of his Turban. King Ballal Sen lifted the sword in second time.

Fakir then stared at the King. He said, I have understood you are the tyrant King Ballal Sen. You have made barrier to the innocent Muslims in performing their ritual tasks. In the name of war, you have killed my innocent fellows. Now you have come to kill me.

- Yes, I have come to kill you.

- What have I offended?

- You pronounced Azan refuting my command.

-  It is the rule of the religion to call the namazi.

- It is to respect to the order of the King.

- Unjust order can not be a rule. Islam has come to exterminate to injustice, tyranny, suppression from the heart of the world. It is the inborn right of a man to perform his own religion. You should not resist to. We did not refuse to comply with good order.

- It is a lie. You have killed cows.

- We did not kill human being. It is permissible to eat beef. You rather killed innocent Muslims for nothing. They were human beings. Which religion does permit to kill human being? What type of policy of a king it is? It is the religion of a king to make overall welfare and to arrange protection to a human being.

- Cow is our God. It is a sin to kill it. You have done such a sin. So you are guilty in the eye of Hindu Law. I have punished them. You will be killed too.

- Haven't you tried so?

- I'll not return back until I behead you.

- Well, my death is waited in the hand of an infidel. It is the will of Allah! Although you may kill me, the course will come about you. Neither you nor your family must not be escaped from the consequence.

- I'll not waste times. You must not be given opportunity to give curse. Saying that King Ballal Sen lifted his sword again. Sitting on the rug of prayer, Baba Adam said, - Why are you so impatient? I will be killed by you, but not with your sword.

Then Dhaka was famous as like as it is popular now. It was just a growing human habitat. A kingdom was famous by Bikrompur which was located in the juncture of the Burignga, the Meghna, the Isamoti and the Brahmaputra River . Since this kingdom was in the middle of the riverine Bengal , it had great importance in the contemporary age. During that time, there were no plenty roads in order to transport in and around the country. The High lands were filled with bushes and those were unconquerable by human beings. As a result, rivers were the means of communications with the rest of the world. At that time, boats were the best transports.

However, it was a terrible experience to journey in the land. Simultaneously, it was risky in the river since storm and natural calamities were rampant then. Innumerable courageous peoples spared their lives in the river by drowning. Yet they preferred to journey by river route than to meet wild beasts in the land.

The alluvial soil of came through the tidy rivers made the land of Bikrompur . This land was bit higher than the normal water level of the river. Although that land produced huge quantity of grains during the dry season, the land became flooded in the rainy season. As a result the kingdom was protected from external disturbances. In case the external force had conquered the land, had to abandon during rainy season.

To be continued. -----------
